Yeryüzü Doktorları Derneği ( Doctors Worldwide Türkiye) is an independent humanitarian organization delivering sustainable healthcare services to vulnerable populations affected by conflict, disasters, and poverty. Since 2000, YYD has implemented health-focused programs in over 80 countries. To strengthen its institutional capacity and expand its access to international funding, YYD is looking for a Capacity Development Specialist or, based on experience, an Assistant Specialist to join its Istanbul-based team.
Job Description
Employment Type: Full-time (Permanent)
Location: Istanbul
Start Date: As soon as possible
Responsibilities
- Track funding opportunities from international donors, development agencies, foundations, and faith-based humanitarian actors
- Maintain effective written and verbal communication with donor institutions and international partners
- Support the development of project ideas aligned with YYD’s strategic priorities
- Prepare concept notes and full project proposals including narrative, budget, and implementation plan
- Ensure timely submission of high-quality applications in accordance with donor guidelines
- Assist in donor reporting and documentation processes
- Contribute to strengthening institutional processes and internal capacity
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Business Administration, or related fields)
- At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in NGOs or humanitarian/development sectors
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written) is essential
- Arabic language proficiency is a strong asset
- Experience in proposal writing, budgeting, and project planning
- Proficiency in MS Office tools
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and an analytical approach
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to travel when required
