WHAT'S HAPPENING IN PALESTINE? (22/04/2024)

In Gaza, where approximately 2 million Palestinians live, a humanitarian crisis continues due to the embargoes imposed since 2007.
Attacks on the Palestinian people continue in the events that started on October 7th. So far, more than 30,000 people have lost their lives in these attacks, and more than 70,000 have been injured.
Equipment shortages and power outages in the region are making it difficult to provide healthcare services in hospitals. On the other hand, hunger is causing a major crisis leading to deaths.

WHAT ARE WE DOING IN GAZA WHILE THE CRISIS CONTINUES?

As Doctors Worldwide, we never give up for a minute regardless of the circumstances and continue our activities in the region without interruption. We are striving to meet the most urgent needs in the region where the intensity of attacks is increasing day by day and even access to basic necessities is difficult. As part of our efforts in Gaza since October 7th:

• Emergency interventions and surgeries for more than 20,000 people,
• Physical therapy rehabilitation services for 700 people,
• Support for the healthcare system; 200 doctor uniforms and 176 hospital kit supports,
• Medical and medical equipment support for more than 20,000 people,
• Cash support for 135 healthcare workers working at Kuwait Hospital,
• Bread and water support for 9,400 people in need,
• Food packages for more than 33,000 people,
• Sacrifice and hot meal support for more than 70,000 people,
• Diapers, wet wipes, and baby food for over 750 people in need,
• Emergency needs and consumable support for more than 26,000 people,
• Psychosocial support services for more than 250 children,

We delivered 9 aid trucks and 2 ambulances to the Rafah Border Crossing to benefit more than 120,000 people through Egypt.

As Doctors Worldwide, by reaching more than 300,000 beneficiaries and sharing the burden of more than 38,000 families in Gaza since October 7th, where the situation worsens every day, we continue to work tirelessly.
